In reimagining the Clark University viewbook cover, our aim was to craft a design that transcended the mundane with a bold, conceptual statement. Departing from traditional campus imagery common of university viewbooks, we centered on the iconic Red Square location on Clark, symbolizing student journeys and intersections.
In bringing our vision to life, we adopted a distinctive aerial perspective, capturing the Red Square from a bird's-eye view. We scattered silhouettes of students, each accompanied by their shadow—a representation of the myriad identities and journeys converging within the university community.
We gathered student volunteers on a sunny day with the sun directly overhead to capture their silhouettes using drone photography from above, aiming to achieve crisp, well-defined shadows.
